Appraisal Management Companies

To be eligible for registration in Arkansas:

  • A single-state AMC must oversee an appraiser panel of more than 15 state-certified or state-licensed appraisers in a state within a given twelve-month period.
  • A multi-state AMC must oversee an appraiser panel of 25 or more state-certified or state-licensed appraisers in 2 or more states within a given twelve-month period.

Before applying for registration in Arkansas, the appraisal management company must be registered with the Secretary of State.

  • The appraisal management company must maintain the registered business name with the Secretary of State.
  • The appraisal management company must use the registered business name for all transactions in this state.

The filing with the Arkansas Secretary of State or a copy of the Certificate of Authority issued by the Arkansas Secretary of State must be uploaded with the application.

The applicant shall post at the time of filing with the Board a Surety Bond in the amount of $20,000 (cash or securities may, with the board’s approval, be deposited in lieu of a bond). A copy of the bond must be uploaded with the application.

The following certifications must be agreed to in the initial application for registration:

  • Certification of a Controlling Person
  • Certification of Acceptance by Controlling Person
  • Certification of Systems and Recordkeeping

The application fee of $500 must be paid with the application. Renewal fees are also $500.

Initial registrations are issued for a period of twelve (12) months.

AMCs must file an Annual Report for National Registry form by February 28 each year.
