Renewing a License

Registered Apprentice (RA) and State Registered (SR) Appraisers

  • RENEWAL DEADLINE: December 31 each year
  • If you renew after December 31, you must include the fee and $50 for each month or partial month you are late.
  • The renewal fee is $125 ($200 – $75 discount).
  • You must submit completion certificates for 14 hours of CE/QE taken within the last year. Please Note: Attendance verifications are not adequate; completion certificates are required.
  • You must have a current USPAP Update taken within the last two years.
  • Beginning January 1, 2026, you must complete a 7-hour Valuation Bias and Fair Housing (VB-FH) Laws and Regulations class. For anyone planning to upgrade at any point, an 8-hour (tested) VB-FH class is required; a 4-hour Update will be required every two years thereafter.

State Licensed (SL), Certified Residential (CR), and Certified General (CG) Appraisers

  • RENEWAL DEADLINE: June 30 each year
  • If you renew after June 30, you must include the fee and $50 for each month or partial month you are late.
  • The renewal fee is $265 ($300 – $75 discount + $40 National Registry fee).
  • You must submit completion certificates for 28 hours of CE/QE every two years in the even numbered years (2026, 2028, etc).
  • Please Note: Attendance verifications are not adequate; completion certificates are required.
  • You must have a current USPAP Update taken within the last two years.
  • Beginning January 1, 2026, you must complete a 7-hour Valuation Bias and Fair Housing (VB-FH) Laws and Regulations class. For anyone planning to upgrade at any point, an 8-hour (tested) VB-FH class is required; a 4-hour Update will be required every two years thereafter.
