Kicking Off 2025 with Future Architects, Landscape Architects, and Interior Designers

02/26/2025

The Arkansas State Board of Architects, Landscape Architects, and Interior Designers started the year with an exciting and productive first meeting on the campus of the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville.

After a morning of conducting important Board business, members had the privilege of engaging with the next generation of design professionals through two insightful “Path to Licensure” sessions in collaboration with the Fay Jones School of Architecture and Design.

With over 100 students in attendance, the Board explored the essential “Three E’s” of professional licensure:

Education – The foundational knowledge needed to excel in the field.

Experience – Gaining hands-on, real-world skills to prepare for a successful career.

Examination – Understanding the rigorous assessments required to become licensed professionals

Students from first-year newcomers to soon-to-be graduates actively participated, posing thoughtful questions about the licensure process, career pathways, and industry expectations. It was an incredible opportunity for meaningful dialogue and mentorship.

The Board is committed to fostering strong connections with students and educators, ensuring future architects, landscape architects, and interior designers have the resources and guidance they need to succeed.

A huge thank you to the Fay Jones School of Architecture and Design for hosting us—we look forward to continuing this important conversation in the future.
