It has been brought to the attention of the State Board of Barber Examiners that an individual claiming to be an employee of the Board is contacting licensees and requesting personal information under the guise that the Board is providing insurance to barbers. Please be aware the individual making these phone calls is not an employee of the Board and that the Board does not offer insurance to barbers. The Board was created by an act of legislation in 1937 to regulate the practice of Barbering. The Barber Law requires the Board to:
The State Board of Barber Examiners shall protect the health of the public by inspecting the barber shops in the state and enforcing the barber laws, by setting the curriculum for the schools and by testing the applicants who present themselves for the State Board Exams.
